Guitar Lessons

My goal is to provide fun and engaging guitar lessons, so I tailor each lesson to the individual student. Guitarists are often seen by other musicians as being very poor at reading music so I try to put emphasis on sight reading for guitar, as well as being able to improvise in various musical styles.

Lessons are held at my home in Epping but I can travel to surrounding suburbs for an additional fee. I am also available for lessons at Jazz Workshop Australia in Crows Nest/St Leonards. I have had experience in private and group tuition in primary and secondary schools, as well as at various music schools.

I am also able to discuss AMEB examination options for guitar.

Yutaro Okuda

I am a guitarist and recent graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, having just completed my BMusStudies Honours degree in 2015. There I completed my Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance degree in 2014 for which I auditioned directly into 2nd year. I have studied with Steve Brien, Mike Rivett, Craig Scott and Mike Nock, as well as classical guitar with Raffaele Agostino.

I also perform regularly in genres outside of jazz, having toured across the country with various groups and ensembles.
