Beginner/songwriter Guitar Lessons

Hi, I’ve been playing guitar for 18 years on and am ideal for beginner/hobbyist students — people who want to learn the basics of chording, strumming, picking, chord relationships, scales, etc. I’m self-taught and have a DIY, artistic ethic but am grounded in solid technique and theory, which makes me great for aspiring writers and artists. If you’re looking to shred or learn conservatory-ready technique, someone else might suit you better, but if you want to get a good footing on this instrument with a patient, amiable teacher, I’m your guy.

I’m flexible with times, schedules, and can host in Carlton North or can travel within the area.

I am self-taught and thus have a DIY approach to playing and writing music, but I am strongly rooted in the fundamentals with a good grasp of theory and technique. In that sense, I bridge the gap between self-honed artistic expression and technical know-how. I’m ideal for beginners/intermediate musicians with an ear toward songwriting.
