Guitar lessons

Guitar tuition focused on beginner to intermediate levels. The initial lessons will be a combination of guitar foundations and learning songs. Foundations being – playing notes, simple string picking, and open chords and then building onwards to scales and bar chords. At the same time you will start learning songs from day one , with a strong focus on rock, pop and folk. An example of some initial songs you will learn would be Pink Floyd – Wish you were here, Snow Patrol – Chasing Cars and Pink – who knew – that’s just a sample, there are heaps more. I also welcome you to bring your own choice of songs to learn to your lesson, nothing beats the feeling of being able to play the music that you yourself love. I will have you playing your favourite songs for your friends and relatives in a few short weeks. Younger children are also welcome, where the focus will be much more on children’s songs and simple 3 string chord fingerpicking until they start to find their feet.

My name is Richard and I have been playing guitar for 25 years and teaching guitar for a large part of that time. I teach from 5pm onwards on weeknights and I am based in Aveley. My lesson rates are $25 per half hour.
