Guitar Lessons for kids
My name is Renae Attenborough.
I am currently commencing my second year in the Bachelor of Music (Classical Performance – Classical Guitar) at the Elder Conservatorium of music under the tuition of Oliver Fartach-Naini (AMEB Classical Guitar syllabus consultant).
I provide beginner to intermediate lessons for children aged 6-18 specialising in classical guitar.
I can provide an instrument for in-class use only, but students are encouraged to have their own NYLON (not steel) stringed guitar if they are wanting to continue.
I believe learning an instrument should be done in an enjoyable manner to allow the student to feel comfortable in exploring their expression and creativity, as well as safe to make mistakes along the way.
By asking the student questions in lessons I am encouraging them to think about and recognise their growing musical knowledge and also present opportunities of asking their own questions along the way. This will ensure the student’s current understanding and lets me know what to work on further to allow them to head toward their goals.
I will actively communicate with parents and caregivers on their child’s progress so they are aware of expectations and given a description on what’s been covered in each lesson.

Renae Attenborough
I started learning guitar at 9 years old (10 years ago) and was actively involved in the primary and high school guitar ensembles throughout my school run by Ian Seaborn.
In 2014 and 2016 I participated in ‘The Adelaide Guitar Festival’ where I was a member of the ‘Adelaide Guitar Festival Orchestra’. In 2016, as well as being a member of the Orchestra, I was also selected to perform in the Festival program the ’15 Minutes of Fame’ where I performed as a solo act.
In 2017 I commenced my first year at the Elder Conservatorium of Music studying a Bachelor of Music (Classical Performance – Classical Guitar) under the tuition of Oliver Fartach-Naini. The same year, I was awarded a scholarship by the University and the students of the Elder Con Guitar Ensemble travelled to South Korea to participate and perform in the Third International Korean Guitar Festival.
In 2018 I was awarded a scholarship to participate in the Sydney Guitar Summer School and began my second year of my degree.
