Guitar Lessons

Given that my own background is very heavily based in classical and flamenco styles, I’m more at home teaching students who wish to learn acoustic guitar (bonus points for nylon string!). I do however have some experience with electric guitar and contemporary music, so I’m happy to take on beginner to high intermediate students in those areas.

I am an enthusiastic teacher of practical piano, guitar and musical theory. My approach is to adapt to the needs and goals of each and every student to gain the optimum result, whether it be playing for enjoyment or technical skills for examinations or school music requirements. I am a registered teacher with the Australian Music Examinations Board.

Given my own classical background I believe in building a strong and fluent technique- technique being the tool needed to play and express whatever piece or style the pianist chooses.

I specialise in intermediate to advanced students, although I am happy to take on even absolute beginners if my schedule allows. I have had great success with students’ scholarship applications/ tuition, exam tuition and school classroom music tutoring (Including Year 12/ Solo Performance/ Ensemble). I am also happy to help with personal projects or requests, composition, theory and general technique or repertoire work.

**PLEASE NOTE: At the present time I have very limited available lesson times. There is a waiting list for those students I can’t accommodate; I advise prospective students to secure a time or get on the waiting list as soon as possible for 2018!!
