Classical Guitar Lessons

I hold a Master of Music (Music Performance) in classical guitar from the University of Melbourne. I am passionate about sharing the wonderful classical guitar repertoire with students. I prepare students for exams, and I have a special focus on technique.

Julia Bakowski

I am an experienced teacher with a passion for the classical guitar and its beautiful repertoire. In lessons I focus on technical mastery, interpretation, practise skills and strategies and sight-reading. I prepare students for exams and provide music theory help.

I am also an experienced performer, having performed alongside artists such as Paulo Aragao and Johannes Moller. I studied with ARIA-winner Tonie Field, and have been named a finalist in the University of Melbourne Alumni Chamber Music Prize several times.

I have taken masterclasses with Xuefei Yang, the Australian Guitar Duo, Carlo Barone and many others. I am committed to passing on to students the knowledge that I have gained from such masters of the instrument.
