From over 10 years teaching experience Joel believes self confidence and music development go hand in hand. With Joel’s help it is never to late to start learning your favorite tunes or even compose your own! (all ages welcome)

“ My goal as a teacher is to encourage students to find, or further develop their own passion for music and guitar. I like to create an environment in which the student’s personal music taste and goals are the priority, with a strong focus on technique, theory, composition, reading and improvisational skills. My experience as a teacher consists of students from all ages, abilities and every walk of life. Passing on the knowledge and passion from my ongoing study of the language of music is the highlight of my teaching career, especially when students begin to explore music more independently.”

Joel has studied both privately and at University, completing his Bachelor of Music Specialising in Jazz and Contemporary Guitar. Along side his teaching experience Joel performs regularly throughout Melbourne with some of Australia’s most renowned musicians.
