Guitar Lessons

I have studied at WAAPA for 2years, doing an Advanced Diploma of Contemporary music and specializing on the bass guitar. Since then I have been invited into many bands (some on guitar and keyboard) and found myself on stages such as Southbound Festival, Beaufort St Festival, Rottofest, State Of The Art Festival, Norfolk Lanes Festival, In The Pines Festival and the Big Day Out, along with the honor of supporting some great acts such as You Am I, Pond and San Cisco to name a few.

My guitar lessons are great for beginners, and as every student will have his or her own strengths and weaknesses, lesson content will vary from student to student.. this kind of keeps my motivation levels up though and I’m still enjoying my lessons to this day!

My lessons are very relaxed and easy going – you tell me your goals and we’ll get there!

These are some general points I like to focus on:

-technique
-groove/feel
-timing
-theory
-soloing/improvisation
-song writing

However as mentioned above, every student is different and I’m happy to teach whatever my student would like to learn.

I can also help prepare for the theory aspect of WAAPA auditions (including the scales needed to pass)

These bands have been in the style/genre of Rock, Funk, Pop, Latin, and Reggae. But I’m very open to most styles of music and teaching: please ask!

I can teach most ability levels, and as every student will have his or her own strengths and weaknesses, lesson content will vary from student to student.. this kind of keeps me motivated though and I’m still enjoying my lessons to this day!
