Guitar Lessons

Music Tuition is offered in Piano, Guitar, Ukulele, Theory of Music, Musicianship & Composition on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays from 3.00pm to 8.00pm at Waverley Primary School (155 Bronte Road, Waverley), Saturdays & Sundays from 9.00am to 6.00pm at Sydney Academy of Music (Suite 1/101 Burwood Road, Burwood).

I studied at the University of New England where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Modern Greek (language & literature) and Music, and later at the Sydney Institute of Technology where I received a Certificate III in Music and a Diploma of Music (Contemporary). I have completed my Masters of Music degree in composition (receiving the Masters Achievement Award) within the School of Music at Excelsia College (formerly Wesley Institute) studying with Dr Heva Chan. I also hold a Certificate in Teaching (LOTE) from the University of New South Wales (Institute of Languages). I have studied piano with Daniel Herscovitch, twentieth century harmony, counterpoint, elements of composition and orchestration with composer Dr Eric Gross.

During the period 2002-2015, I taught piano, guitar, theory of music and musicianship at St Spyridon College Junior School, where I was also music coordinator, and conducted/accompanied the school’s choir for various school events and many other occasions from 2001-2005. In 2001 I performed with the St Spyridon Children’s Choir, accompanied by the Millennium Choir, and the Western Youth Symphony Orchestra, conducted by George Ellis, in a concert organised by the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia at the City Recital Hall as well as in 2005 at the Sir John Clancy Auditorium at the University of New South Wales. I have also taught at Dickson’s Music Complex, at St Euphemia College High School, at St Charles’ Primary School at Waverley, at Ashfield Primary School and at Croydon Primary School. At the moment I am teaching at Waverley Primary School and at Sydney Academy of Music at Burwood.

In 2004 and 2005 I also taught Modern Greek at the Saturday School of Community Languages for the NSW Department of Education and Training, and have worked as a voice performer (Listening and Speaking Skills) on the NSW HSC Online website (Modern Greek), for the Charles Sturt University and the NSW Department of Education and Training.

I am currently a Full Writer Member of the Australasian Performing Right Association, the Institute of Music Teachers and the Music Teachers’ Association of NSW, where I am qualified to teach composition, theory of music and piano. As of 2006 I am also a Member of the New South Wales Teachers Federation.

I have worked on various musical genres, my music consists of solo instrument and chamber works for diverse ensembles through to full orchestra.
